Common Reasons Why Many Applicants Miss Out on University Admission Each Year

Image
Every year, thousands of students apply for university admission with high hopes, but many are left disappointed  not because they’re not qualified, but due to avoidable mistakes. Understanding these common errors can help future applicants make better choices and increase their chances of success. 1. Lack of Proper Guidance and Mentorship Many students go through the admission process without the help of experienced mentors or counselors. This often leads to poor decisions during application and registration. 2. Applying Without Meeting Cutoff Marks Some applicants choose institutions or courses their scores cannot compete for, assuming money or influence can secure them a spot — a risky assumption that often leads to rejection. 3. Late Registration Delaying registration or waiting until deadlines often results in rushed mistakes or missed opportunities due to system errors or network issues. 4. Ignoring Instructions Simple errors, like not following registration or exam in...

Muslims students lynched, burned Yorùbá teacher to death.

Image
Sixteen suspects in the murder of a Christian secondary school teacher in the northern Nigerian state of Gombe, have been released without charge.  The decision has caused consternation in local Christian circles. Married mother of two, Christiana Oluwatoyin Oluwasesin, was brutally murdered after a Muslim student falsely accused her of having torn a copy of the Quran. The student had been caught cheating in an exam at Gandu Government Day Secondary School. Mrs Oluwasesin had confiscated a paper with Arabic inscriptions which the student had hidden in a book. Despite another teacher showing that the book was not the Quran and had not been torn, a mob of students attacked Mrs Oluwasesin. They were aided by residents from the surrounding area who had been drawn to the scene by the clamour. She was stoned, stripped, beaten, and stabbed to death, and her body was later burned beyond recognition. Local observers believe the incident may have been pre-planned. Two weeks prior to her deat...

10 Signs a Girl Likes You for Who You Are, Not Your Money

Image
In today’s world, where material possessions often take center stage, finding a girl who genuinely likes you for who you are is priceless. While some people may be drawn to wealth and status, others prioritize character, connection, and shared values. So, how can you tell if a girl is truly interested in you and not your financial standing? Here are 10 signs to look out for: 1. She Enjoys Simple Moments with You A girl who values you for who you are doesn’t need fancy dinners or extravagant vacations to be happy. She appreciates the joy of simple activities like having long conversations, watching movies at home, or going for walks. If she lights up during these humble moments, it’s a sign that your presence means more than material indulgence. 2 . She Never Focuses on Your Financial Status She’s not interested in your job title, how much you make, or whether you drive a luxury car. Instead, she’s curious about your passions, dreams, and the things that make you happy. Conversati...

Image
Dan, a 31-year-old police officer, is now living a life he never imagined scarred and blind. His appearance and condition are the result of an unthinkable act of domestic violence stemming from what he describes as a “normal” argument with his wife. The incident began like any ordinary disagreement between a married couple. Dan and his wife had a minor argument about a house issue. Thinking nothing of it, Dan left for his night shift. When he returned home the next morning at 5:30 a.m., exhausted from work, he went straight to bed, unaware of the horror that awaited him. While he slept, his wife poured an acid solution on his face. As if that weren’t enough, she ensured he couldn’t escape. She poured water on the floor and connected it to electricity. When Dan tried to move, he was electrocuted. His screams for help echoed through the house, alerting neighbors who rushed to his rescue. They managed to save his life, but the damage was done. Dan’s face was severely scarred, and he...

Those who refused to meet his financial demands reportedly faced severe academic repercussions, jeopardizing their academic future. Mr. Hassan's influence was reportedly bolstered by his close ties to the institution's rector, Dr. Abdul Jimoh. Despite numerous petitions and complaints lodged against him over the years, these allegations were often ignored or suppressed.
